Our Ambassadors promote the work done by the charity as widely as possible, whilst encouraging their community to support Fertility Network UK.

They are committed to raising awareness for fertility issues, and the impact these issues can have on the 1 in 6 couples who suffer from infertility in the UK.

We also have a separate scheme for those working in the fertility industry to join us as Clinic Ambassadors, acting as a point of contact between their clinics and the charity and helping us to raise awareness. Find out more about our Clinic Ambassador Scheme here.

Who are we?

Fertility Network UK provides free and impartial support, advice, information and understanding for anyone affected by fertility issues.

We are the nation’s leading patient-focused fertility charity and are here on a practical and emotional level to offer support services, information and access to a community of people affected by fertility problems.

We are a small charity working hard to help the 3.5 million people affected by the devastation and pain fertility issues wreak.

We are the patient voice in the campaign for equitable access to NHS fertility treatment in the UK – based on medical need and not postcode. Our education project raises awareness of the importance of fertility education in protecting and maintaining future fertility and highlights some practical steps young people can take to help protect their future fertility.

We work with the media to raise public awareness of all aspects of fertility issues, to highlight the need for equitable access to NHS fertility services and to promote the need for fertility education in order to protect and maintain future fertility.

No other fertility organisation offers the range of services and support that we provide.

The Role of Ambassador

This is a voluntary role. The role depends on how each individual ambassador would like to be involved, and what opportunities you can create both for yourself and the charity. This may include attending events, delivering talks or organising national/local fundraisers.

If you are more digitally savvy, this role could also mean raising awareness for the charity and those who suffer from fertility challenges through social media and supporting our digital awareness and fundraising campaigns. Or, you may be an adrenaline junkie, and want to complete challenge events in aid of Fertility Network UK, such as Kilimanjaro or London to Paris!

Raising the profile of the charity by networking with our ambassadors as well as your own social circle can also be part of the job description.

This role is really what you make of it. We are keen to work with our Ambassadors on new ideas and initiatives.

What you can expect from us

We will support and develop your role every step of the way. We will send you up to date information and invite you to training sessions. This would include inductions on what the charity does, our current initiatives and what we plan to do in the future.

Funds permitting, you would also be invited to annual meet-ups together with staff. You would be welcome to stay for dinner, which will give you a chance to have an informal chat with the team. We’d love to have your input!

In return for all the vital work you do for the charity, we would:

  • Welcome you on social media
  • Promote your activities in our bi-yearly magazine Affinity. This magazine is displayed at The Fertility Show and is sent to clinics signed up to our Patient Pledge
  • Send you a piece of merchandise (such as a pin/t-shirt) that you can use to promote the charity in social posts
