I am delighted to be able to work with a charity so close to my heart. As I recently went through my own fertility issues and treatment, I was struck by how many of us there are going through similar issues but how little we all talk about it and support each other. Often, I would find myself opening up to one friend, or another, about what I was going through only for them to then share that they had actually been through a similar journey which at the time they hadn’t talked about. At a physically, emotionally and often financially challenging time we all need support, and the work that Fertility Network UK does here is invaluable and I’m so excited to be part of it.
Professionally, I am a Finance Director with 20 years’ experience in the retail industry, most recently at Marks and Spencer. I bring to the Board a skillset which is particularly commercial and strategic, with most of my time spent on the development of strategies for growth and change, as well as driving and monitoring day to day performance. I am passionate about people and believe building great relationships across all levels of an organisation is key. I have previously held two Board positions one of which was for a charity.
