N.Ireland Co-ordinator working with Human Rights Commission

The N. Ireland Co-ordinator is working with legal representatives and the Human Rights Commission to challenge the inadequate NHS criteria for IVF fertility treatment for same sex couples. Fertility Network UK, on behalf of our Service Users, are keen to see movement in N. Ireland towards full implementation of the NICE Guidance on Fertility treatment, 2013 for all couples. A report has been developed which shows the NHS funding situation in N. Ireland in comparison to other parts of the UK.  N. Ireland offer only one fresh and one frozen cycle of IVF treatment to those who meet the criteria. A full break down of the criteria for accessing NHS fertility treatment in England, Scotland, Wales and N. Ireland is located on the NHS Funding section of the Fertility Network UK website
