Find out more about our interim Chief Executive and Head of Fundraising
Blair McPhee has joined us as our interim chief executive, and has been a Charity Mentor and senior level Consultant for more than 12 years in the UK supporting a broad range of charities and social enterprises. Prior to that Blair was a private sector Mentor and Managing Director in New Zealand where he helped set up the National Mentoring scheme in association with the Chamber of Commerce; assisting entrepreneurs establish their businesses as well as running his own Business Development company developing his own subsidiary businesses. Blair shares why he has joined Fertility Network UK as interim Chief Executive:
“It is a pleasure to work with the staff and trustees of the charity following the departure of our outgoing chief executive in developing a strategy for growth of our services to patients this year. We would particularly like to thank Aileen for her immense hard work on the #Scream4IVF campaign which is our most successful yet. Whilst we still know there is a long way to go, we are supremely proud of what a huge profile Aileen has built bearing in mind we are still a small charity with a national presence. My role over the next six months is to identify ways in which we can build on the solid foundations of income already developed, grow its impact with our service users, and really help the charity to become the size we all know it could be, as well as securing a new permanent chief executive to take the work of the organisation forward. This will be eased by the fact we have such a dynamic, committed and talented management, staff, volunteer team committed to our service users.”
Anna Day FRSA has joined the organisation as Director of Fundraising (Interim). Anna has been working in the charity sector for over 16 years and has worked in maternal and paternal health from conception since 2014, she has 8 years chief executive experience and has raised over £16m for charities. Anna is supporting the charity during the next six months or so until a permanent new team is appointed, and keen to talk to anyone that is wishing to raise funds for FNUK. Anna can be contacted on: 07733305042, or by emailing fundraising@fertilitynetworkuk.org
Anna tells us why she came to the charity: “ It is a huge privilege to come in and work with such a talented team providing much needed fertility advice to patients across the UK. As someone personally affected by fertility issues, I am deeply moved and proud to be raising funds for such an important cause, and look forward to trying to make as much human impact as possible in capacity building our services during the intervening period. It is clear our service is helping people at an absolutely critical point in their lives where support can be totally lacking”.
