Dr. Hadley’s journey is both personal and professional. In his 40s, he transitioned from a career in IT to train as a counsellor, driven by his own experience of longing to become a father. His passion for understanding male childlessness led him to pursue a self-funded MA, MSc, and a PhD, focusing on involuntarily childless in older men. A published author and advocate, Dr. Hadley’s work has been featured in national and international media. His critically acclaimed book, “How is a Man Supposed to Be a Man? Male Childlessness: A Life Course Disrupted,” explores the profound impact of childlessness on men. He has also contributed to academic publications, blogs, and podcasts for infertility and childlessness support groups. Dr. Hadley is a founder member of the campaign group Ageing Without Children and has been actively working on policy change. His briefing on data collection at birth registration is gaining traction with MPs, highlighting the need for parity in this area.
