Are you a victim of England’s IVF postcode lottery?

Are you a victim of the postcode lottery for NHS-funded fertility services in England? If you are, contacting your local MP is one of the key ways you can lobby to help save NHS IVF and also express how you feel about this cruel and unethical rationing of fertility treatment.

In order to make this as straightforward as possible for you, Infertility Network UK has prepared a draft letter/email to send which is available here. If you are comfortable doing so, it is helpful to include details of your personal situation: how fertility struggles affect you physically, emotionally, financially and socially.

Your MP’s contact details (address, email and twitter account) can be found here. If you don’t know who your MP is, simply enter your home postcode and their name will appear. You can also send a copy of your correspondence to Jane Ellison, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Public Health at the Department of Health, Richmond House, 79 Whitehall London SW1A 2NS.

Infertility Network UK and Fertility Fairness believe it is unacceptable that 83 per cent of England’s clinical commissioning groups ignore public health guidance from the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence and do not provide three full cycles of NHS fertility treatment. With your help we can change this.
