I am a qualified family solicitor and have advised clients for over 10 years in respect to all aspects of family law.  My work as a family lawyer principally involves issues arising following relationship breakdown and children disputes.  I am now increasingly involved in advising in respect to surrogacy and alternative parenting arrangements, including those issues arising for LGBT parents.  I have experience of working on cases involving parents who have entered into international surrogacy arrangements, advising them in navigating the necessary legalities required to obtain legal parenthood when returning to the UK.

I have experienced first-hand from friends, family members and colleagues the devastating impact of those struggling with fertility issues, many of whom have had to undergo IVF treatment.  As a family lawyer, I have also witnessed the impact that fertility issues can have on people’s relationships.

I have recently become a Mum and my daughter is now 7 months old.  My husband and I were advised to undergo fertility testing prior to embarking on trying for a family and we both found the advice we received at this early stage incredibly helpful.  I am aware of the very important role that Fertility Network UK plays in the provision of information and education in respect to fertility issues.

Both the legal and soft skills I have developed as a family lawyer, have equipped me well to take on the role of trustee for Fertility Network UK and I was appointed a trustee in January 2020.  I recognise the very worthwhile work that Fertility Network UK undertakes in supporting those experiencing fertility issues and I feel privileged to have been appointed to the Board of Trustees.
