Good news: plans to halt NHS IVF in Northern Ireland suspended

Patient campaign to fight the proposed cuts successful; a great example of patient power

Plans to halt NHS IVF in Northern Ireland for five months have been suspended. A massive thank you to everyone for all their hard work campaigning, including our amazing media volunteers who helped to raise awareness of the impact of these plans on patients; it’s a great example of patient power.

The planned suspension of fertility services for five months would have had a huge impact on patients who already have to wait up to three years for treatment in Northern Ireland.

Fertility Network UK launched a patient campaign to fight these proposals, with many of the Fertility Network volunteers taking part in media interviews to talk about the impact this would have.
